#430

Lake Wendouree, Victoria
2011

A new house for a young local family.

This house was declared to be an “Australian first”. Using ‘PosiStrut’ as a vertical structural system the supplier declared that it had never been undertaken previously in Australia.

The building of the house was to take many other rigorous approaches; the incorporation of green roofs, plastic as a glazing systems or the use of standard sheeting material taken directly from the pallet and attached to the house; no cutting, no wastage.

The standardisation of the cladding system sets up the composition of the elevations and the overall planning.

Access to daylight was imperative and yet how to provide privacy on a busy tourist Sunday drive required as much consideration.
